Applications are invited from the male and female candidates belonging to state of Jammu & Kashmir for the post of Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS) on temporary basis likely to be permanent in the pay band-|, Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade pay Rs. 2.000/- plus usual and admissible allowances to Central Govt. employees from time to time. In addition, Ration allowance, Medical Assistance, free uniform, free accommodation, free leave pass, etc. as admissible to Central Govt. employees. The post has all India liability and selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India and even abroad. They will be governed under relevant Acts and Rules of respective CAPFS as well as CCS Rules. The selected candidates will be governed by the new contributory Pension Scheme, which came into effect from 01 Jan, 2004.

BSF Constable Recruitment 2016 Eligibility

• Matriculation or 10th Class pass.

Age Limit & Relaxable

• Between 18 to 23 years as on 01/08/2016.
• Upper age limit is relaxable by 03 years for OBC and 05 years for SC/ST.
• Upper age upto 05 years is also relaxable for those persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J&K during the period from 01 Jan 1980 to 31 Dec 1989. The person claiming relaxation under this category should produce a certificate to the effect that they had been domiciled in the state of J&K during the period from 1 January 1980 to 31 December 1989 from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they had ordinarily resided or from any other authority designated in this behalf by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
• Five years of age relaxation may be granted to the children and dependent family members of victims killed in 1984 riots and communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat State, The children and dependent family members of those killed in these riots should produce a certificate to that effect from the Concerned District Collectors, SC/ST/OBC relaxation as per government instructions will be addition.

BSF Constable Exam Physical Standards 2016

• Height – For male-70 Cms./For Female-157 Cms.
• Chest – For males -Unexpanded – 80 Cms/Expanded Min. expansion – 5 Cms
• Weight – For Males and females Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

Relaxation — Relaxation will be permissible in height and chest to the candidates as follows —

Height:

• The minimum height for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes Will be 162.5 cms for males and 150 cms for females for ST candidates of all States/UTs/districts excepts given in the following para.

• The minimum height of Candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis Kumaonis. Dogras, Marathas and Candidates belonging to the State of Assam Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashrnir will be 165 cms for male and 155 cms for females.

Chest:

• The minimum chest of male candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes Will be 76 cms (minimum 5 cms expansion).

• The minimum chest of male candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the states of Assam. Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir will be 78 cms (minimum 5cms expansion).

BSF Constable Exam Medical Standard

• Eye sight :The minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 both eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses. The candidates must not have knock knee, flat food, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

BSF Constable Recruitment 2016 Selection Process

• Physical Standard Test (PST),
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET) &
• Written Test.

Candidates who have been issued admit cards will report at the PST & PET centre on the given date and time to undergo the following selection process :-

• a) All eligible candidates Will be asked to go through the Height Bar and thereby, candidates with lesser height will get eliminated.

• b) Those candidates who qualify the Height Bar will be subjected to 5 Kms race
  (for male) and 1.6 Kms race (for female) to be completed within 24 minutes and
  8.30 minutes respectively. For Ladakh region, PET will comprise of 1 Mile race
  (for Male) and 800 meters (for Female) to be completed within 6.30 minutes
  and 4 minutes respectively.

• C) Physical Efficiency Tests will be only qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks.

• d) Testimonials of the candidates will be checked after the identification process and only eligible candidates will go to the next step.

• e) Candidates who are found eligible on screening of testimonials will be screened first for height, chest and weight (Weight will not be a disqualification at the stage of PST). However, it would be assessed for disqualification during medical examination (with reference to Height/Age Standard chart) measurements.

• f) The candidates who qualify on the PST & PET will be required to appear in a Written Test.

• g) The written test will consist of objective type multiple choice questions The question paper wilt Consist of 100 questions of 100 marks to be attempted in 2 hours.

• h) The question paper will be set to assess the general awareness/general knowledge, knowledge of elementary mathematics, analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns and to test the basic knowledge of the candidates an English/Hand.

• i) The Question papers will be prepared trilingual in Hindi. English and Regional Language of the State. The papers can be answered either in Hindi, in English or in Regional Language of the State.

• j) Medical examination as per BSF Medical Manual and instructions conducting medical examination issued by ADG (Medical) CAPFs.

• k) Any candidate with a small engraving/tattoo of name or religious symbol on the inner face of the arms or hand is permitted for enrolment.

• l) Candidates having permanent tattoo on any other part of the body will be
  debarred for recruitment in CAPFs & AR.

BSF Constable Recruitment 2016 Application Form

• Candidates who fulfill the above physical and medical standards should personally appear at the PST & PET centre designated in respect of their Districts from 24th Aug’ 2016 to 02nd Sept. 2016 for registration of their applications The candidates while reporting at the PST & PET centres will bring along with them a duly filled Application form as per the prescribed format at Annexure —I. The application form should be typed or neatly hand written on one side only in full scape plain paper with passport size photographs affixing on applications duly attested by a Gazetted Officer with seal. The application forms should be enclosed with the following documents :-

a) Candidates are requested to fill up the application form in Hindi or English language.

b) Attested copies of certificate/testimonial as proof of Educational qualification and age/date of birth.

C) Attested copy of caste/category certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates given by an officer not below Tehsildar or SDO/SDM etc.

d) Attested copy of Domicile certificate, ADHAR Number. Voter ID card & Ration card etc. issued by an officer not below Tehsildar or SDO/SDM etc.

e) A form for issue of Admit card will also be filled in and submitted along with Passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazetted Officer with seal as per Annexure-II along with the application form.
