- Every year Staff Selection Commission (SSC) invites candidates for Combined Graduate Level (CGL) online application of various post recruitment process n the various Ministries/Departments of the Govt. of India and in Subordinate Offices. The Commission is responsible for formulating policies of CGL Exam, including schemes of Examination, publishing CGL result, answer keys and other procedure for smooth conduct of examinations / selection tests.

- Written examination will be conducted in Three Tier Process. Tier-I, Tier-II & Tier-II written examination
CGL (Tier-I) Exam Pattern 2018
- Tier –I of the Combined Graduate level Examination would be common for all categories of posts and will be held in one session. Questions will be of Objective Multiple Type Choice. The questions will be set in Hindi/English in respect of Parts A, B and C.
- Total Duration/ Timing for General candidates : 2 Hours
- Total Duration/ Timing for Visually Handicapped candidates : 2:40 Hours

- Tier-II of the Combined Graduate Level Examination -2018 will be of
Objective Type Multiple Choice. It will consist of three different papers/subjects and depending upon the category of posts applied for, the candidate will be required to appear in one, two or three papers, as the case may be.
- Total Duration/ Timing for General candidates : 2 Hours
- Total Duration/ Timing for Visually Handicapped candidates : 2:40 Hours
For The Post Of Assistants, Inspector Of Income-tax/inspector (central Excise,inspector(po), Inspector(examiner) Sub Inspector in CBI, Inspector of Posts, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Divisional Accountants,accountants, Auditors, Tax Assistants, Udcs, The Examination Will Consist Of Two Papers As Under:

For The Post Of Statistical Investigators Gr.II & Compilers, The Examination will consist of Three Papers As Under:

For the post of Sub-Inspector in Central Police Organisations, the Examination will consist of o one paper as under:

Tier-I will be used to screen the candidates for appearing in Tier-II for various
papers which will be specifically required for different groups of posts. However,
marks of such screened candidates in Tier-I will be taken into account for final
ranking of candidates for selecting them for the interview and also final selection.

- Commerce paper will cover all the subjects of commerce ordinarily taught at the B.Com. or similar degree courses of Indian Universities. Specifically, it will include the subjects which included into the syllabus
- The English Language & Comprehension exam syllabus i.e The standard of the questions will be of 10+2 level.
