The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is a government board of education, which was established in Patna, by the Government of Bihar. The main reason to build this board is to provide quality education and to conduct exams at secondary and senior secondary level in government and private schools all over Bihar state. The syllabuses of Bihar board are prescribed by the Government of Bihar.

The Bihar board not only conducts school examinations but also it conducts some departmental examinations like Diploma /Certificate in Physical Education and Teachers Training Examinations.
