- Graduate Aptitude Test in Production and Industrial Engineering (PI) 2019 (GATE PI 2019), is an all India examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, on behalf of the National Coordinating Board – GATE 2019, Ministry of Human Resources Development.

GATE PI Application Form 2019:
- To apply in GATE Production and Industrial Engineering Exam 2019 all candidates have to apply only ONLINE “GATE 2019”. – GOAPS
- Upload photograph, signature and other documents like graduation certificate/certificate from Principal, caste certificate (if applicable) etc.
- Pay the application fee through net-banking / debit card/ credit card.
- Check the Status of your application GOAPS.
GATE PI Eligibility 2019:
- Bachelor degree holders in Production and Industrial Engineering (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
GATE PI Exam Pattern 2019
- GATE Production and Industrial Engineering (PI) Examinations will be conducted in ONLINE Computer Based Test (CBT).
- PI page will have 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks are in General Aptitude (GA).
- In GATE Production and Industrial Engineering exam 2019 General Aptitude section will carry 15% of the total marks and the remaining 85% of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.
- Numerical Answer Type Questions: The Production and Industrial Engineering question paper for GATE 2019 will consist of questions of both multiple-choice type and numerical answer type.
- There will be negative marking for each wrong answer 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.

ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS
- Linear Algebra: Matrices and Determinants, Systems of linear equations, Eigen values and Eigen vectors.
- Calculus: Limit, continuity and differentiability; Partial Derivatives; Maxima and minima; Sequences and series; Test for convergence; Fourier series.
- Vector Calculus: Gradient; Divergence and Curl; Line; surface and volume integrals; Stokes, Gauss and Green’s theorems.
- Diferential Equations: Linear and non-linear first order ODEs; Higher order linear ODEs with constant coefficients; Cauchy’s and Euler’s equations; Laplace transforms; PDEs –Laplace, heat and wave equations.
- Probability and Statistics: Mean, median, mode and standard deviation; Random variables; Poisson, normal and binomial distributions; Correlation and regression analysis.
- Numerical Methods: Solutions of linear and non-linear algebraic equations; integration of trapezoidal and Simpson’s rule; single and multi-step methods for differential equations.

- GENERAL ENGINEERING : Engineering Materials, Applied Mechanics, Theory of Machines and Design, Thermal Engineering.
- PRODUCTION ENGINEERING : Metal Casting, Metal Forming, Metal Joining Processes, Machining and Machine Tool Operations, Tool Engineering, Metrology and Inspection, Powder Metallurgy, Polymers and Composites, Manufacturing Analysis, Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
- INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING : Product Design and Development, Engineering Economy and Costing, Work System Design, Facility Design, Production Planning and Inventory Control, Operation Research, Quality Management, Reliability and Maintenance, Management Information System, Intellectual Property System.
