- Candidates seeking for the admission into PHD in Mathematics and M.Sc PHD in Mathematics courses have to appear in TIFR GS Mathematics Exam 2018. It is conducted by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research at the Mumbai campus and various National Centres of TIFR.
TIFR GS Mathematics Admission 2018:
- The admissions procedure for Mathematics courses, consists of a written test (TIFR GS Entrance) and followed by interviews of shortlisted candidates.
TIFR GS Mathematics Exam Date:
- The test conducted by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is generally held in Month of December. Last year it was held on December 14, 2014.
- Next Exam Date : Sunday, December 13, 2015 Afternoon Session: 02:30 p.m. to 04:30 p.m.
TIFR GS Mathematics Eligibility
- For Ph.D. : M.A./M.Sc./M.Tech.
- For I-Ph.D. : B.A./B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech. (Students already /completing an M.Sc. degree by July 2018 are not eligible).
Syllabus & Exam Pattern
TIFR GS Mathematics Exam Pattern
- Duration : Two hours (2 hours), There are thirty (30) multiple choice questions divided into two parts. Part I consists of 15 questions and Part II consists of 15 questions.
- Bachelors students who have applied only for the Integrated Ph.D. program at TIFR CAM, Bangalore will only be evaluated on Part I.
- All other students (including Bachelors students applying to the Ph.D. programs at both TIFR, Mumbai and Bangalore) will be evaluated on both Parts I and II.
- Each corect answer will get 1 mark. There is no negative marking for wrong
answers. A question not answered will not get you any mark
